Vewlix F 1080P
The F model is considered to be the Ferrari of Vewlix line-up. Its superior screen allows lag-free gaming and although it came out in 2007 is still considered to have a high end screen even in recent times. Fightgames, shooters or any game that benefits from high framerates will never be the same.
Now that the technology of 1080P screens have finally surpassed the quality of the original Vewlix 720P screen while remaining lag free, we have decided to build the upgrade.
The screen we use is an A-grade commercial screen from Iiyama. A brand that is known for their focus on quality and reliability.
The screen features a 8ms response time. A lag free screen is a definite must when keeping up with high paced games on consoles and pc's.
Arcades go +1 when it comes to safety and vandal proofing their hardware. For that reason we have decided to also incorporate high gloss safety glass in the screen upgrade. Just like the original screen you'll have tough glass protecting the most valuable and fragile part of the cabinet.
The screen that we use has the luxury of having a breakout-board like the original screen but also has a sleek wireless remote to control the screen.
While the original screen is limited to DVI and VGA our screen also offers HDMI (HDCP support) and RCA. So you could also run the latest consoles or choose to use older consoles.
The inputs are located in the same spot. So just remove the plate on the back of the vewlix and you have access to the inputs of the screen. This also allows you to hide your cables and keep the look of the cab clean.
Original Vewlix Bezel
A huge part of our research was to find a solution to keep the cabinet look original and use the same metal bezel. Our upgrade does just that and keeps the metal bezel in tact.
Our screen can handle 100-240v so you could choose to either use external power from a wall socket or simply connect the screen to the internal power switch. The screen uses 42Watt at maximum use so when using it on the internal power switch it adds 42watt to the power usage of the cabinet (in case you use a stepdown converter).
Originally the Velwix is JVS wired. That means it is able to host original arcade hardware which uses JVS wiring like the Taito Type X2.
If you want to use a console in the Vewlix we can wire it to your needs. We can fit compatibility for PS3, XB360, PC or a combination of consoles. Plug your console in and play!
The artwork upgrade consists of the artwork for the topper/marquee and the movelist. The artwork is printed onto high quality glossy paper and fitted inside the cabinet for you.
The sound of the Vewlix cabinets is great, but arcade operators need to keep the volume of the cabinets low so that the overall volume of the arcade is still acceptable. For that reason the vewlix mostly boasts high- and midrange tones. The subwoofer option utilizes the body of the Vewlix cabinet to enhance the power of the low tones. It also comes with a wired remote to be able to adjust the volume from within the control panel.
The Vewlix cabinets were built for arcades so they do not have extra buttons to pauze, return or go the the home screen. Using the Vewlix for a console means you are missing out on essential functions of the console. For that reason we've designed a plate that sits on the control panel which houses these extra buttons for both players. It's located underneath the black plastic cap on top of the control panel. The plastic panel becomes a cover to still have the vewlix look original but once you slide it off you'll have all the functionality of your console.
